A Meet the Contractor open house for the 158th Avenue Project will be from 5-7 p.m. March 14 at Kaleo Covenant Church, 15900 SW Regatta Lane .

The event, sponsored by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation, provides the public the opportunity to meet contractor, Kodiak Pacific Construction. County staff will also be available to answer questions about the final design and construction schedule. No formal presentation is planned.

158th Avenue will be widened to five lanes – two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane - from Walker Road to the Merlo light rail station, south of Jenkins Road. The project also includes consistent bicycle and pedestrian facilities, street lighting, landscaping and storm drain improvements. 158th Avenue is a heavily used north/south arterial serving nearly 23,000 vehicles per day.

Construction is expected to being in March and continue through December. The $8.1 million project is funded through Washington County's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP ).
