County to hold Open House for Evergreen Road and Glencoe Road Projects

Washington County’s Department of Land Use & Transportation invites the public to attend an Open House on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Middle School regarding upcoming improvements planned for Evergreen Road and Glencoe Road. The Open House will introduce both projects and provide an opportunity to collect community feedback. Staff from Washington County’s Engineering/Capital Project Management Division will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions.

Evergreen Road will be widened to five lanes, with bike lanes and sidewalks, between 25th Avenue and 253rd Avenue. Construction is anticipated to begin July 2011 with completion by December 2011. This project is being funded with County Traffic Impact Fees (TIF).

The existing Glencoe Road bridge over McKay Creek will be replaced with a longer bridge constructed above the 100-year flood plain, with two lanes that will better accommodate vehicular traffic including farm equipment. Construction is anticipated to begin June 2011 with completion by June 2012. This project is being funded through the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3C).
