An open house about improvements planned for SW 198th Avenue will be 5-7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Edwards Aloha Community Center, 4375 SW Edwards Place.

The open house, sponsored by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT), provides the public with the opportunity to learn about the final design. No formal presentation is planned; stop in any time during open house hours.

This project will widen 198th Avenue, between TV Highway and Farmington Road, to three lanes, one travel lane in each direction; a center turn lane will run from Blanton Street to Farmington Road. Additional improvements include continuous bicycle lanes and sidewalks along both sides of the road, safety enhancements at intersections, continuous street lighting, some landscaping and upgrades to the storm drainage system.

For more information, visit the project website, or contact Heather Sturgill, Communication Specialist/PIO, at 503-846-7822 or [email protected].
