Portion of Beef Bend Road closing Sept. 4 for culvert replacement

A portion of Beef Bend Road will close from Sept. 4-Oct. 29 for replacement of a culvert.

SW Beef Bend Road, between SW Roy Rogers Road and Hwy 99W, will be open to local traffic only. Beef Bend Road, between 146th Avenue and the Oak Mont Apartments entrance, will close to all traffic. Those with mobility needs who travel between Myrtle and 146th avenues are encouraged to call Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation at 503-846-7800 for an escort during construction.

There are three detour routes:

• Passenger vehicles: Roy Rogers Road, Bull Mountain Road and Hwy 99W. See vehicle detours map

• Pedestrians (ADA Accessible): 146th Avenue, Tewkesbury, Chesterfield Lane and Westminster Drive. See pedestrian detour map

A single concrete arch culvert will be installed under Beef Bend Road, replacing two failed culverts. A sidewalk will be installed on the north side of the road, completing sidewalk connectivity between 146th Avenue and Westminster Drive. Sidewalk ramps at 146th Avenue will be upgraded. This project also includes installation of a section of waterline by the city of Tigard and a section of force main sewer by Clean Water Services.

The $2.5 million project is funded through the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program and the County's Road Fund.
