Principal Planner appointed for Community Planning program

This week, Director of Land Use and Transportation Andrew Singelakis announced the appointment of Aisha Willits as the Principal Planner for the Community Planning program in the department’s Long Range Planning division

Community Planning is responsible for preparation, maintenance and periodic updates of the county's Comprehensive Plan, and also helps to coordinate the county's involvement in state, regional and countywide planning activities. Current and recent Community Planning projects include the Aloha-Reedville Study and Livable Community Plan, North Bethany Subarea planning, and Urban and Rural Reserves planning.

Ms. Willits most recently served as a Senior Planner in the Long Range Planning division’s Transportation section, where she managed the Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Prioritization Project. She previously worked in the Community Planning section for eight years, in addition to four years in the Transportation section. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Planning from Portland State University and a Master of Business Administration degree.

“Aisha’s combination of experience, skills and her depth of knowledge of the department made her an ideal candidate for this position,” said Singelakis.
