Media release

For Immediate Release: Thursday, September 05, 2013

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation, Capital Project Services Division

A contractor for Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation will be performing weekend road construction work on Scholls Ferry Road between Roy Rogers Road and Barrows Road this Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the weekend construction, the signal at Scholls Ferry Road and Roy Rogers Road will also be shut down when work is being performed in or near the intersection. Flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection and work zone as quickly as possible. However, expect up to 20 minute delays or use alternate routes.

The construction being performed this weekend is related to the Scholls Ferry Road (Roy Rogers Road to Teal Boulevard) capital project. The contractor is installing a new sanitary line for Clean Water Services and the cities of Tigard and Beaverton.

The Scholls Ferry Road capital project will widen Scholls Ferry Road between Roy Rogers Road and Teal Boulevard to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. Additional improvements include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, street lighting and utility line upgrades. The project is funded through the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Construction is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2014.
