Bethany Boulevard and Mitchell Avenue (FY 2022-24 Pedestrian & Biking Improvement)

The intersection of Bethany Boulevard and Mitchell Drive doesn’t have a pedestrian crossing.

We will add a crosswalk, signs, road striping and curb ramps.

A Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) will be installed to alert drivers when someone is in the crosswalk. RRFBs are crossing signals with blinking lights that turn on when a pedestrian presses a button.

This project is part of a larger effort to connect sidewalks and walkways in the Bethany area.

To ensure cost-efficient construction, this project is being designed and constructed alongside:

Construction start (expected): Sept. 2, 2025
Construction finish (expected): March 2026

Update

11/17/2025: Construction on concrete surfaces is complete. Signals and signage will be installed at a later time based on the availability of materials. Final installation is expected by March 2026.

Funding

Cost: $200,000 (2021 estimate)
