Free Family Caregivers Conference on November 6

November is National Family Caregivers Month. The 12th annual Washington County Family Caregivers Conference will take place on Friday, November 6, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., at Tuality Health Education Center, 334 SE 8th Ave, Hillsboro. The conference is free for family caregivers. Lunch is included.

This year's conference is entitled "Bridging the Gaps in Caregiving." Information presented will include: improving communication with and advocating for the person in your care, legal considerations for family caregivers, products and equipment that make caregiving easier and safer, and advance care planning.

Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici will present the keynote address, "Honoring and Supporting Family Caregivers in Their Role."

Approximately 20 community service organizations will be on hand with resources and information.

This event is sponsored by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services Family Caregiver Support Program and Tuality Healthcare, with support from the Law Offices of Nay and Friedenberg, Home Instead Senior Care and Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services.
