What would your pet’s ultimate dream home look like?

A deluxe doggie den?

A cat cabin?

A hamster holiday home?

Although the Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter holiday fundraiser is titled the “Gingerbread Dog House Contest,” entries are not limited to the structure of a house or a dog house. The entry must follow a pet theme (doggie dream house, cats frolicking in a cabin, hamster holiday home, etc.) and be made of 95% edible materials. Because the houses will be on display for a month, no one will actually be eating the houses, so feel free to use any combination of candies, chocolate, dog biscuits, etc. Entries are limited to a maximum of 24”x24”x24”.

Entries will be accepted between 1pm-4pm on Saturday, December 1; Sunday, December 2 & Monday, December 3 at the Cedar Hills Crossing Shopping Center and will be on display in the interior of the mall through the end of December.

Categories: Adult (individual or team) Teen (individual or team) Youth Category (individual or team) Professional Category (individual or team) Professionals may display their business name and contact information.

Prizes will be awarded in each category based on overall appearance, originality & creativity, difficulty, precision and consistency of theme. A People’s Choice Award will also be given to the house that receives the most donations (votes).
