Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services (DAVS), in partnership with Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Services and Pacific University's School of Pharmacy, is holding their second annual "Staying Healthy and Independent" Community Wellness Forum.

The event takes place on Saturday, May 5, from 1:00-3:30 p.m., at the 55+ independent living community, The Village at Forest Glen, 13775 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Beaverton. The event is free and open to the public.

A fall prevention workshop will be held from 1-2 PM. SAFE – "Safely Avoiding Falls Everyday" – was developed in partnership by Pacific University School of Occupational Therapy and Washington County DAVS and helps participants identify their own risk factors and guides them toward creating preventative strategies.

From 2-3 PM, Jeanne Brandt of OSU Extension Services will lead a workshop on "Using Medicines Wisely." Participants will learn about careful medication management and how to get the optimal benefit from medication.

In addition, medication consultations will be offered by Pacific University School of Pharmacy throughout the event. Call 503-846-3085 to reserve a time for your medication review.

More information on the forum is available by calling 503-846-3085, weekdays from 8:00- 5:00.
