Washington County Media Statement on the Case Involving Marlin Starr's Dog

Washington County Animal Services does not tolerate animal abuse in any form. We care deeply about the well-being of animals and the well-being of our community. As with any incident that involves injury to an animal, we are reviewing the situation and looking at all the facts surrounding the incident. We urge people to remember that the initial report indicates that the dog’s owner was not at home when the dogs were at large and the incident occurred. This incident is being investigated separately and independently by the Hillsboro Police Department. We will not be making any comments about the incident until after the police report.
