Travelers can expect lane closures and delays on River Road, between Scholls Ferry and Farmington roads, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. July 30-Sept. 30 for shoulder widening and road overlay work.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane during construction;travelers should expect delays. Wide trucks should avoid using River Road, as lane widths will be reduced.

Shoulders will be widened by about 3 feet on each side of the road, which will improve safety for vehicles, farm equipment, bicycles and pedestrians. The overlay will extend the life of the road.
