Motorists are no longer required to have traction devices on tires when traveling in the Washington County snow zones on 175th Avenue, Barnes Road and Cornell Road.

Snow zones are activated in these areas during icy and snowy weather conditions. Vehicles without traction devices are more likely to be involved in crashes or have difficulty driving on slick surfaces.

When snow zones are active, solar-powered lights flash, alerting travelers of the requirements. Notifications are posted on www.wc-roads.comNextdoorTwitterFacebook and the Washington County website.

Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users and operating the County roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
