The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is replacing the Cornelius Pass Road bridge over Rock Creek in cooperation with Washington County.
The bridge was built in 1946 and not designed to handle freight traffic. We are replacing it with a single-span bridge with two vehicle lanes and wide shoulders.
Jurisdiction of Cornelius Pass Road has transferred to ODOT, and is now OR 127. Once complete, the bridge will be transferred to ODOT for all future maintenance.
A full road closure is needed to remove and replace the bridge safely.

8/3/2026: No trucks are allowed on Old Cornelius Pass Road. Use the cars and light trucks detour or alternative routes below.
7/27/2026: A full road closure will continue through September 29. See detours, below.
Pile driving has begun, with bridge demolition starting Friday or Monday.
Note: Kaiser Road is closed between Brugger and Springville roads through Aug. 16.
