Cornell Road and 25th Avenue Intersection

Cornell Road and 25th Avenue is a heavily used intersection near the Hillsboro Airport.

We are improving the intersection to keep up with the types of travelers using these roads. The project will improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

This project includes:

  • Adding dedicated turn lanes from southbound 25th Avenue onto Cornell Road
  • Adding bicycle lanes
  • Updating street lights and traffic signals

Construction start: December 13, 2024
Construction finish (expected): September 2025

Update

4/22/20245: The northbound lane of 25th Avenue will be closed north of Cornell Road May 5-16. Detour

Northbound 25th Avenue will not be accessible from the Cornell Road intersection.

Detour to Brookwood Parkway and Evergreen Road.

Cornell Road will remain open; traffic signals will remain active.

Expect intermittent lane closures 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays on Cornell Road and 25th Avenue within 1500 feet of the intersection. Expect delays.
