Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Due to popular demand, we have added a second spring series for Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week course designed to help unpaid family and friend caregivers learn to care for themselves while caring for others. In this class you will learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate more effectively and make tough decisions.

The class will take place on Tuesdays from May 21 through June 25, 1:30-3 p.m., at Parkinson's Resources, 8880 SW Nimbus Ave, Suite B in Beaverton. Suggested donation of $30 to cover the cost of the manual. Contact Susan Williams at 503-846-3089 or email [email protected] to sign up.

What you should know when you're starting as a caregiver

This workshop will focus on conversations to have, resources to be aware of, and how to advocate for yourself as a caregiver. We will go through early, middle, and late stage caregiving and what to prioritize during each stage. Plus, connect with others who are new to caregiving. Please register online at the Cedar Mill Library.

The class takes place Friday, April 19, 2-3 p.m., at Cedar Mill Library, Elk and Oak Room, 1080 NW Saltzman Road in Portland.
