Flu

Where to find a flu shot in Washington County, plus posters and other resources

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Some people are at high risk for serious flu complications. This includes older people, young children and people with certain health conditions. Even healthy children and adults can become very ill if they get the flu.

Everyone ages six months and older should get a flu shot every year. It is is especially recommended for all health care workers, people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant individuals, people living or caring for babies six months and younger, or people living with someone who can't be vaccinated because of health reasons.

It is safe to get your flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time.
