For the first time, our Planning Work Program will span two years. As most of our planning work takes longer than one year, it makes sense to extend the program to two years. This will allow us to assign our staff and budget more efficiently.
The work program is organized into four themes and includes ordinances, projects and other transportation and community planning activities. Priority tasks include:
- Housing tasks:
- Housing production and affordability
- Community Development Code (CDC) Assessment
- Issue Paper on Rural Housing Options
- Natural Resources and Climate tasks:
- Significant Natural Resources (SNR) – Limited Goal 5 program update
- Climate-Friendly and Equitable Communities (CFEC) implementation
- Multimodal Transportation Planning tasks:
- Transportation System Plan (TSP) major update scoping
- Complete Streets design update
- Develop transportation element of County Capital Improvement Plan
- Farmington Road Concept Plan
- Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP) update
- Countywide transit planning and implementation
- Trails planning and coordination
- Plan and Code Update tasks:
- Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) expansion and Urban Planning Area Agreement updates
- Minor Comprehensive Plan amendments
- Issue papers for Board direction
