Land Use & Transportation

We build and maintain a great transportation system and plan and protect uses of the land. Land Use & Transportation employees work in coordination with our agency and government partners to provide transportation, planning, permitting and road maintenance services.

Third-floor lobby closed to in-person services on July 1

The third-floor lobby for Building Services and Development Review/Current Planning will be closed for in-person services on July 1 so staff can update computer systems. Online and phone services and in-person appointments will continue, and staff will be working in the office.

Building, Development Review fees increasing July 1

Most Building Services and Development Review/Current Planning fees will increase 8.5% effective July 1. These sections are entirely fee supported and annual fee increases are needed to continue to meet constituent/customer service and financial objectives. 

Services

Most of our services are available remotely - online, by phone or via U.S. Mail - 24 hours/day, seven days a week.

In-person Services: Appointments recommended at the Public Services Building; appointments required at the Walnut Street Center. See Office Locations and Business Hours.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners adopted the $250 million Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) 3f funding allocation during its June 4, 2024, regular meeting.
