Project-Based Voucher Program
Project-Based Vouchers provide rental assistance to low-income households. Unlike Housing Choice Vouchers, Project-Based Vouchers are tied to a specific unit at a specific apartment building. This means that participants in the PBV program will receive rent assistance for the unit that they are selected for from the waitlist, and the assistance cannot be used for a different unit.
How do Project-Based Vouchers work?
When a Project-Based Voucher unit is available, the applicantsat the top of the waiting list are notified via mail and through Washington County’s Rent Café online portal. Selected applicants must complete an eligibility packet to be screened by Washington County for program eligibility. If eligible, applicants must then be screened by the property.
