Active Transportation

Washington County Employees can enjoy their commute to work with a variety of sustainable transportation choices.

Washington County encourages employees to take transportation options to work. Below are some of the ways that Sustainability helps support transit, biking, walking, carpooling, and more.

  • Travel Options (PDF 9.2 MB)

  • TriMet Hop Fastpasses – All regular, benefit-eligible County employees qualify for a TriMet Hop Fastpass, paid for by the County. The pass is valid on all TriMet buses and trains, the Portland Streetcar, and CTRAN. Employees may use this pass for work or leisure.

  • TriMet Transit Tracker – Check to see real-time status of TriMet buses and trains at County facilities.

  • Bike to Work - Bike racks are available at County buildings, and employees can also access a secure bike parking corral in the downtown Hillsboro Parking Garage. Locker rooms and showers are available for employee use at some offices as well as the Washington St Conference Center. Bike repair stations are located outside several County facilities.

  • County Bike Fleet – There are five bikes available for County employees to use for work or leisure.  They are located in the Washington Street Parking Garage.

  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations – There are level 2 charging stations on County property for employees and the general public, with plans to install more in the near future.

  • Transportation Partnerships – We partner with Get There Oregon and the Westside Transportation Alliance to help employees set up carpools and vanpools, map their routes to work, and learn more about their transportation options.
