If You Find an Injured Animal

What to do if you find an injured stray pet in Washington County, Oregon.

Special hours during Fourth of July weekend

The Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter will be open on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for walk-in services. These services include stray dog intake, pet reunification and dog licensing.

Our shelter will be closed to the public on Sunday, July 5. We will reopen with our regular services on July 6.

If you find a stray pet while the shelter is closed, you can hold on to the pet and continue searching for its owner until we open, or you can contact Washington County non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111 to see if an officer is available to help.

Help for injured animals

When Animal Services is closed (after hours and on holidays)

Response time and officer availability depends on a variety of factors. Local law enforcement may not always be available to respond to calls about animals.
